Frequently Asked Questions
What are your fees?
Each 50-minute session is $150. A sliding scale is partially available to those who are in need in which case a lower rate can be agreed upon during the first session. Fees are due in full at the time services are rendered unless otherwise agreed upon.

Do you take insurance?
I am currently not in network with insurance. A superbilll can be provided upon request for you to submit with your insurance for possible reimbursement. I do not take Medicare or Medicaid insurance.

What does a typical session look like?
In our first session, the majority of the time will be spent getting to know you and identify your goals and hopes for counseling. We will go over intake forms, any previous mental health experiences you have received, and how we will work together moving forward. Since this is your counseling experience, I deeply value client feedback and want your honest options about things you like and what you are hopeful for! Sessions are 50 minutes and I will start to wrap us up around the 45 minute mark to ensure proper time is available to prepare for my next session.

Do you have a cancellation policy?
In order to avoid a session fee, I require 24 hours of notice in advance. This allows for anyone on a waitlist to have a chance to schedule. For no shows or cancellations with less than 24 hours notice, you will be charged the full session rate. If you are more than 15 minutes late to a session, the session will be canceled and you will be subject to a late/no show fee. Exceptions will be made due to extenuating circumstances at the full discretion of the therapist.

How do I make an appointment?
Appointments can be made be either emailing directly at dani@danikazlowcounseling.com with any questions you may have or through the client portal link where you can fill out paperwork and request an initial session. I am currently only available for in-person appointments on Mondays and have scattered Telehealth availability throughout the rest of the week.

Do you work with couples and families?
I currently only provide counseling services for individuals. Oftentimes during the course of therapy, it can be helpful to have a spouse or family member join the session to assist the healing and health of the individual who initiated counseling. In these cases, couples and family sessions can be provided as a supplement to individual sessions.

What other services do you offer?
In addition to individual sessions, I occasionally run counseling groups, can be requested to provide trainings for organizations and ministries, and teach on various mental health topics.
